The THINC Africa conference, which recently took place in Cape Town, saw managing director of Integrated Solutions, Evert Lategan; director of Profica, Thierry Giannone, and founding director of Dexter Moren Associates, Dexter Moren discussing challenges in hotel development, and of procuring material in Africa, design perspectives as well as trends that could be incorporated into Africa from a European perspective. Lategan highlighted the importance of programming and time and how research, development and signing off of projects play a crucial role in the management of allowing sufficient time for projects. Hazel Lategan proves it is possible to have it all as she takes business and family to new heights

Hazel Lategan (39), Financial Director of project construction management company Integrated Solutions, is not only qualified as a quantity surveyor over and above her current position, but she is also an entrepreneur, co-owner of Integrated Solutions, devoted wife to husband Evert (MD of Integrated Solutions) and mother of four boys. Despite a schedule that starts daily at 5am and continues until late at night, Lategan also managed to find the time to launch an interior design division as part of Integrated Solutions’ variety of services.

Interior design trends shift away from 'open plan'

The latest interior design trends predict that open plan living with large empty, transparent spaces will soon change as people are now moving towards a warm, homely, earthy and cocoon like atmosphere. So says Hazel Lategan, Financial Director of project construction management company Integrated Solutions, who also heads up the interior design division.
